【FLASH NEWS】The world's first beauty product using iPS cells

Leading cosmetics manufacturers KOSÉ, i-PACE (headquartered in the U.S.), and Reju (Minato, Tokyo) announced that they have decided to form a technical alliance to develop and provide personalized beauty products containing iPSF, an ingredient extracted from customer iPS.

Press Release is here

The formulation, which determines the comfort and feel of the product, is tailored to the individual's sensibilities to create a beauty product that is "just for me".

These beauty products are not cosmetics as defined by the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law, but are provided under the supervision of a doctor through a medical institution.

The roles of each company in this alliance will be as follows: KOSÉ will manufacture and sell personalized formulations; i-PACE will produce, culture, and manage iPS cells; and Reju will provide "iPSF" (iPS cell extraction component).

The companies expect to begin technical and business demonstrations through medical institutions by the end of 2024, with business development to follow in 2026.

Beauty products using personal iPS cells are the first of their kind in the world and have the potential to narrow the barriers between the cosmetics industry and cosmetic medicine.
